Who is Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training for?

Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training (PYTT) is ideal for yoga teachers, and suitable for those in the perinatal fields (nurses, midwives, doulas, doctors, etc.) who have some yoga experience along with a desire to gain greater insight to better assist people during pregnancy, birthing and beyond.*

There is a need in our modern world to support people as they become parents. This is a time of transformation - as no one is the same after the birth of their child(ren.) Join your community of helpers encouraging ways to find peace in pregnancy, birthing with confidence, and trusting they are capable of handling whatever comes their way!

Basic Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training: Perinatal professionals and yoga teachers who simply want to gain wisdom to accommodate expecting persons in their field of work will benefit from the Basic level of the curriculum.

Advanced Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training: The Advanced level is for those who would like to continue studying in order to teach Prenatal Yoga classes, and those who are eligible to receive the Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT) designation through Yoga Alliance (YA).

About the Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training Program

Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training School Michigan - Sweet Momma Yoga - RPYS_TrademarkSweet Momma YogaSM is an 85-hour Registered Prenatal Yoga School (RPYS) in Southeast Michigan.

To ensure trainees receive proper and individualized attention this program holds space for six trainees.

Fertility, pregnancy, childbirth, and the first year postpartum will be studied on many levels. These life topics are delicate in nature. Please be aware of your own life experiences as sometimes past or unresolved feelings may be triggered. As such, time to debrief and discuss is available. This fosters the ability to ultimately help others without attaching personal feelings on someone else's life journey.

Elise Bowerman is the lead teacher, and completed her RPYT training with Mindful Mamas' Laurel Hicks. Sweet Momma Yoga school is the first RPYS after Mindful Mamas left Michigan in 2017. As a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP), we are able to offer 34 contact hours of CEU's for the Basic Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training portion.

Elise was fortunate to grow up in a household with a holistic mind-set and practiced yoga 10 years before her first child was born. As a woman who taught and practiced yoga throughout the entire pregnancies of both her children she has first-hand experience of what it's like to evolve at this time in life... personally and professionally. She also advocates for doulas, midwives, chiropractors, holistic medicine, perinatal and antenatal psychologists.
