Prenatal Yoga Classes in Michigan - Sweet Momma Yoga - prenatal-yoga

We live in a society which encourages women to numb their body and mind during the most transformative time in life: childbirth.

What is often unspoken is how the preparation for and treatment during birth are deeply impactful on how she feels about herself as a woman and mother; and how she views the world.

This will impact her daily life either in a self-motivated and loving way, or overwhelmed, uncertain, and distressed.

If you are ready to be informed and learn ways to birth with confidence, then this comprehensive Birth Training is for you.

You will get:

  • 5 in-person yoga classes
  • Downloadable informational and evidence-based handouts
  • Access to the Sweet Momma Moms community
  • Extended 6-month digital program access
  • BONUS: Postpartum preparation for mom
  • BONUS: Caring for baby preparation

No yoga or fitness experience necessary. In fact many women explore yoga for the first time in pregnancy.

What to Expect

Prenatal Yoga Classes in Michigan - Sweet Momma Yoga - Outside_location_karen_faith_llc

Class location
Karen Faith LLC
7399 Middlebelt Rd, Ste 4, West Bloomfield MI 48322
(NE corner of Middlebelt & 14 Mile Roads)

Bring your own yoga mat.

Arrive 10-15 minutes early to set up, use the restroom, and settle in.

Some community props are available; however, it is recommended to bring your own.

Wear comfortable, breathable clothing. Layers work well in the cooler months. The room is set at about 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

Refrain from heavy fragrances. (i.e. lotions, perfumes or colognes)

Traditionally yoga is practiced on an empty belly (refraining from meals 2 hours before practice). This is not the case in pregnancy. You are creating a little human, please eat. Perhaps not a chili cheese dog right before class, but eat lighter foods like fruit, vegetables, crackers, small sandwich, etc. You want energy for the class... and it's a great way to prepare for labor. (It can be helpful to eat before and during childbirth to keep your energy and strength going.)

Most importantly: please do not leave early. Allowing time for a restorative pose (savasana) often followed by a guided meditation or breathing exercise integrates the work you have done. Becoming aware of your body, mind, and breath will assist you through childbirth and into parenthood. Embrace the moments of stillness.
